CHILDREN at Somers Park Primary School held an ‘uji pot’ day to help raise funds for the Chumageni Primary School in Tanzania.
The Malvern school has been supporting and fundraising for Chumageni school for a number of years.
Children choose to have uji - a porridge-like meal - instead of their normal lunch to help them empathise with orphaned children their own age in Africa , for whom uji is the only meal of the day.
The money the Somers Park children raise will help maintain the kitchen at Chumageni and supply the much-needed food.
