ORGANISERS of the Malverns Experience, which runs from Monday to Sunday, August 14-20, are looking for teams to take part in a special quiz night.

The quiz has a local theme, and is being held at the Abbey Hotel on Wednesday, August 16, at 7.30pm to raise money for the County Air Ambulance. Teams of four are wanted.

The quiz is just one of a whole range of events which have been arranged to celebrate the diversity of life in and around the town.

Anthony Collis, the town centre manager, said: "It's the third year we've done it. It's been extremely succesful in previous years and it seems to be going well this year."

As in previous year's, the majority of the events are free and many of the places have already been booked up.

Malvern Hills Gallery is offering a whole range of craft workshops, including egg-painting, cardmaking, doll and teddy bear making, watercolouring, stained glass-making and clay sculpture.

Gallery chairman Brian Porter said: "People like to meet the artists and craftspeople who make the things that they are buying. To see the things being made gives insight into what work goes into the pieces sold in the shop."

Other events include themed walks, such as a tree walk and architecture walk, and guided tours of famous local firms such as Morgan cars, Malvern water and Bronté Porcelain.

There are plenty of children's activities, including free cinema screenings at Malvern Theatres and dance lessons at the Splash. A full list of Malvern Experience Week activities can be found at Malvern Tourist Inform-ation Centre (01684 892289) or by visiting www.malvernhills.gov.uk/ tourism.
