SENIOR golfers from Bransford will try and sink a hole in four when they attempt to complete a fundraiser for the armed services.
The team will play four full rounds of golf at Ombersley, Gaudet Luce and Puckrup Hall golf clubs before finishing on their own course at Bransford Golf Club - a total of 72 holes.
With a combined age of 251, Trevor Atkinson, Bill Bowen, Fereydoon Ghani and Jeff Thomas will need all their stamina to finish the challenge by sunset on Thursday, June 11.
They will not ride in buggies but will walk the courses supported by a relay of caddies from the section.
By getting involved in Help for Heroes, Bransford Seniors are helping to transform the lives of wounded, and often forgotten, service personnel.
Seniors’ captain Mike Holmes, said: “I am amazed at the support we already have for this challenge. Our four golfers clearly have the most demanding task for the day, but their chances of meeting the challenge will be enhanced by the team of supporters who will provide support on the courses and sustenance in transit between courses.
“Testament to the fact that the challenge is inspiring people are the facts that our oldest senior, Stan Parnell, will be acting as a caddy for the first round at Ombersley starting at 4.30am, and that the team has already attracted sponsorship from far and wide.”
More sponsorship is always welcome and anyone interested can get in touch with Mr Holmes on msholmes@talktalk.net.
