A HOLE In The Road is the title of a colourful new picture book by Malvern children’s author Jakki Wood.
Simple, bright pictures of diggers and dump trucks, road rollers and workmen show children what happens when a hole appears in a road. A brief line of text accompanies each picture explaining what is happening.
Described as the perfect picture book for children who love vehicles, particularly the large and impressive kind, the book is a softback and costs £5.99.
Children appear in the pictures watching the various drivers and workmen and the various vehicles are shown each carrying out a specific job, from clearing rubble to pouring hot asphalt and making the road surface flat and smooth.
Jakki Wood, who lives in West Malvern, is now an established and successful author and illustrator of children’s books. Her other books include Animal Parade, Baby Parade, Noisy Parade, Number Parade, March of the Dinosaurs, Bumper to Bumper, Deep Blue Sea and Fiddle-I-Fee.
