HANLEY Swan village hall once again became the centre of the community on Saturday when it played host to the latest cafe and market event.
The cafe, which will celebrate its second birthday later in the summer, is held every month with the aim of bringing people together.
And it is proving very successful at that, says organiser Joanna Bowles. "We get people from the village, from the campsite, and people from Malvern and Worcester." she said.
At the village hall, they can enjoy homemade food and browse among a huge variety of stalls, selling everything from jam to secondhand books. One of the specialist stalls this month was selling asparagus from the Vale of Evesham.
Charities also take the opportunity to set up stalls at the market, and this month, the featured cause was the Malvern group of the Save the Children fund.
The event also raises money for community projects in the village, and is currently funding improvements to the pond on the village green.
