RESIDENTS of the Dyson Perrins ward in Malvern have been becoming familiar with a new face on the streets.
PC Danian Lowe has already made an impression on the area, after taking action against vandal attacks by youths against the Methodist church in Somers Park Avenue.
PC Lowe, aged 35, has been in the West Mercia force for 12½ years, and in that time has worked in various areas, from traffic to local policing.
He's been in his current post for about two months now, and has been busy getting to know the patch and the people.
His aim is to work closely with the community in the Dyson Perrins ward to tackle problems of crime and anti-social behaviour as they arise.
"I'm Malvern born and bred," he said. "I care about the community and I want to make a difference."
And he is determined to be both visible and accessible to the public. "People do want to see a bobby on the beat, not just an officer going past in a car," he said.
His efforts have already seen a reduction in the problems at the Methodist church, and he will continue to work with other groups, such as councils and housing associations.
Members of the public in the ward who want to share concerns about crime and disorder can contact PC Lowe on 0300 333 3000.
