SCARECROW spotting will be all the rage in Bromyard this weekend as the town accommodates its straw-filled friends.
The annual Scarecrow Festival will kick-off this evening (Friday) with a scarecrow parade leaving St Peter’s Church at 7.30pm and finishing with a pig-roast on the Town Green, in Rowberry Street.
Saturday morning from 8.30am onwards, Bromyard in Bloom will be serving up their ‘big breakfast’ in the public hall.
At 10am, Bromyard Community Transport and Age Concern will be raising funds with a ‘mile of pennies’ in Broad Street and High Street.
A competition, which will run from 11am until 5pm, will give people the chance to win £100 by matching the scarecrow with the cryptic clue.
Children can win WH Smith vouchers worth £25 by entering a competition which runs alongside the scarecrow event.
