AN exhibition of the work of Tony Davis, a talented local woodturner, takes place in Malvern Link today, Friday, May 29 and tomorrow, Saturday, May 30.

The exhibition is at the Tiger Arts Gallery, a gallery dedicated to exhibiting the work of local artists and admission is free.

Tony, from Bransford, has been wood turning for four years and has some unique and interesting pieces. More than 100 items will be on display at the exhibition in the former Mycycle shop on Worcester Road.

The gallery plans to be a community arts venue with exhibitions featuring a wide variety of art forms created by local people.

Owner Tanya Holt said: “There are a lot of talented people in Malvern who just need somewhere to display their work.” She added that the gallery was all about promoting local arts to local people. The gallery displays modern art, not necessarily abstarct but definitely 21st century.

She is planning to hold an exhibition on recycling furniture and would be interested to hear from anyone interested in getting involved. Also students and other arts groups who would like to use the space to exhibit modern and unique art can contact the gallery.

The gallery has featured the work of local artists Nick Trotman, Andrew Judd, Eithne Donne, Nigel Groom, Claire Hearne, Tara Heath and Dave Reynolds.
