CHURCH Street will be closed on Sunday (May 31) as cyclists tackle the fourth annual Edward Elgar Bicycle Challenge.
The uphill time trial is organised by Malvern Fringe and Velo Club Sevale, Malvern’s cycling club.
Riders are challenged to ride up Church Street in the quickest possible time, and entrants of all ages and abilities are welcome to compete. The best time recorded to date is 17 seconds.
Registration is from 9.30am outside the former Woolworths store and costs £1 (under 16s 50p).
There will be a mid-mornning break to allow access to services at Malvern Priory and racing will then resume at noon, going on until 3pm.
