A WOMAN from the Malvern area has died following a collision between two cars on a rural road in Essex.
At about 1.10pm yesterday (Thursday) a green Ford Escort travelling towards Latchingdon was in collision with a grey Nissan Micra travelling in the opposite direction.
A spokeswoman from Essex Police said the Escort driver and his family were on holiday and are from Worcestershire.
A woman in her 80s, who was a rear seat passenger, was killed. She is believed to be from the Malvern area.
The other people in the car were a woman in her 40's and teenage girl who were taken to hospital with minor injuries.
The driver of the Escort, a 45-year-old man, was arrested on suspicion of causing death by careless driving but has been released on bail until July 14 while enquiries continue.
The occupants of the Nissan, a man and woman in their 60s from Stratford, East London, were taken to hospital but were not seriously injured.
