A MALVERN charity is marking its 25th anniversary with a major concert next month.
The local branch of the Royal National Lifeboat Institution is promoting the concert on Saturday, June 27, featuring the renowned Morriston Orpheus Choir.
The choir, one of the most renowned of Welsh choral ensembles, will be conducted by its musical director Joy Amman Davies.
The concert also features performances from soloists Susan Black (soprano) and Iain Sloan (tenor), two singers with strong connections to the Malvern area.
The concert is at Malvern College's Big School, the school's main hall, by permission of the headmaster, Antony Clark.
As well as the concert, the evening will feature a raffle, wine bar, lucky programme and choir CDs for sale.
"It will be a wonderful evening," said Hilary Al Rasheed of the RNLI. "We're looking forward to seeing many supporters on the night. The RNLI does a wonderful job and it relies entirely on donations from the public."
Tickets cost £12.50, and must be bought in advance from Peter Edwards on 01684 562920.
This is not the only event being organised by Malvern RNLI to celebrate its anniversary; the group is also arranging a party in September for supporters.
