AN old soldier from Malvern is calling on former comrades from the Queen’s Royal Hussars to take part in a reunion in Worcester.
Andrew Milton, of Malvern, who served with the cavalry regiment for 22 years, is organising the event on Saturday, june 27, also the date of the first national Armed Forces Day.
And he is urging colleagues from past and present to get together again and reform their friendships.
The former warrant officer who left the Army in 2005 said: “Last year we had a reunion on a boat on the river Severn and we had 125 people turn up.
“The fact this year’s is going to be in the Guildhall means it’s a bigger venue and more people can make it.”
Mr Milton, currently a Squadron Quartermaster for a Territorial Army Signals Regiment in Coventry, said soldiers from Ireland and Germany have attended the reunions in the past.
“It’s a bit of a national event,” he said. “It’s primarily for people in the local area but we’re not going to stop people coming from further afield.”
Tickets cost £28 and include a four-course meal with wine and entertainment. For details, call Mr Milton on 07962 230885.
