A HEALTH trust which runs two hospitals in Worcestershire is looking for members from the Malvern area.
The Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust wants to become a Foundation Trust, which means it will become accountable to local people through membership and a new council of governors.
And it wants to get more Malvern people involved in its plans, which include looking at the future of the Alexandra hospital in Kidderminster and the Worcestershire Royal Hospital.
Trust chairman Michael O’Riordan said: “Becoming a Foundation Trust means that local people can become more involved in shaping the future of the local acute hospital services.
“The membership provides a direct way of communicating with local people, and this is something that we have never had before."
The trust is holding a session in Malvern for people interested in becoming members or governors on Tuesday, June 9, at Holy Trinity Church Hall, Link Top, Malvern, at 6.30pm.
