SHUTTIFIELD Cottage at Birchwood, near Storridge, is open on Sunday, June 6, under the National Gardens Scheme.
Between 1.30pm and 5.30pm, garden-lovers can inspect the extensive herbaceous borders, walk through the 20-acre wood with ponds and natural wild areas, and see the old rose garden, deer park and vegetable garden. Admission is £3.50, with children free.
The Layton Avenue group of gardens is open on Saturday and Sunday, June 13 and 14th, bringing together three gardens in Malvern, with a variety of water features, interesting designs and colourful planting.
It includes gardens at 10 and 22 Layton Avenue, plus a new one to the group at 159 Pickersleigh Road. The gardens are open from 11am to 4pm, and admission is £3.50 (children free) Also on Sunday, June 14, it's the turn of Birtsmorton Court, a rortified 12th century manor house, whose grounds include a pool laid down in Henry VII’s reign and a tree under which Cardinal Wolsey reputedly slept. It is open from 2pm to 5.30pm and admission is £4 (children free).
And on the same day, Tannachie, Harcourt Rd, West Malvern, will be open between 2pm and 5pm, for visitors to see a Victorian garden undergoing restoration, with a 35-metre herbaceous border, terrace with views to Hay Bluff, rock garden, rhododendron area and sunken garden. Admission is £3 (children free).
