A TEAM of workmen from Malvern have travelled to Kenya to pass on carpentry and decorating skills to a local school.
The workmen have been sent to the Ngobit School in rural Kenya by the Property Care Partnership (PCP), part of the Festival Housing Group.
They will be passing on their skills to students and staff at the school with the aim that they can then improve their learning environment.
This is the second year running that PCP workers have visited Kenya. The visits have come about as part of a partnership between Festival and Droitwich High School, which is twinned with the Ngobit School.
PCP director Rod Rhodes is delighted to be involved with the project.
“Last year we made a real difference in Kenya and our workers gained a huge amount from the trip,” he said. “We have selected a group of workers who will benefit considerably from this experience and also have a lot to offer the pupils and staff in Kenya.
“This will not only be a fantastic learning experience for the children in Kenya but also for our staff.”
