TORY parliamentary candidate Harriett Baldwin is urging Malvern Hills District Council to stick with a weekly rubbish collection in sacks, rather than switching to a fortnightly wheelie bin service.
MHDC is currently considering its future options for waste collection and is asking residents to complete an online survey to share their views.
After completing the survey, Mrs Baldwin said: “We live in a very rural part of the District and a wheelie bin would be very hard to drag up and down our hilly drive.
“We are avid recyclers and composters and always have more in the purple and white sacks than in the black rubbish sacks.
“It is good news that there will only be one kind of sack next year as it is a complicated system at the moment. I certainly don’t want black sack rubbish hanging around and smelling for two weeks, especially in summer.”
To complete the online survey visit malvernhills.gov.uk before Sunday (May 31).
