TWO students from Malvern St James performed well in a prestigious UK-wide classics competition.
The winners of the UK CICERO Classics Competition were announced at the Joint Association of Classics Teachers (JACT) conference at Durham University on Saturday (May 16).
Malvern St James student Rosie Goring was graded “Highly Commended”, and fellow student Kike Ayininuola gained a “Commended” in the ‘Cultural’ section of the competition.
The winning student, Liam Erskine, is taught Latin at Hazlewick School, in Surrey, by former Malvern pupil Imogen Goodier.
The CICERO competition was co-founded by Malvern St James teacher Anne Dicks tow years ago, and aims to bring Classicists from different backgrounds all across Europe together.
Students from six European nations take part in the competition, which involves two demanding exams.
