MALVERN town councillors will be officially opening a refurbished play area in Malvern Link next week.
The play area at Victoria Park has just received an upgrade at the cost of £85,000, and coun Caroline Bovey says people have already had a lot of good things to say about it.
The work, carried out by Play World Systems, included the replacement of all the climbing frames and slides, installation of a new safety surface, zip wire, and climbing walls and nets.
"It's fantastic," said coun Bovey, who has just relinquished the chairmanship of the council. "I'm really pleased and proud that this work was carried our during my time in office.
"Victoria Park is really the main play area that the town council is in charge of, and we wanted to make it as interesting as we could.
"I've already had mums telling me how great it is and you only have to look to see how much the kids enjoy it," she said.
The playground will be officially opened on Thursday, May 28, at 2.30pm.
