THE new chairman of Malvern Town Council is coun Paul Tuthill, who was elected to the post at the council's annual meeting on Tuesday evening.
Coun Tuthill, who represents the Link ward, was elected 12-4, beating sitting chairman coun Caroline Bovey, who was nominated for re-election.
Coun Tuthill thanked coun Bovey for her hard work during her year as chairman, and the council then selected as vice-chairman coun Beryl Hickling, who was elected unopposed.
During the meeting, the membership of the council's committees and working parties were appointed, as were the council's representatives on outside bodies.
