A TEAM of cadets from Malvern College braved the elements to complete the Three Peaks Challenge - climbing Scafell Pike, Snowdon and Ben Nevis - in under 24 hours.
After a nine-hour journey from Malvern to Scotland, the team battled dreadful weather conditions and terrible visibility to reach the summit of Ben Nevis one day before sleeping on the journey back to England and scaling Scafell Pike, early the next day, before going to Snowdon, reaching the summit and returning with just 30 minutes to spare Although 50 teams of climbers set out on the challenge that day, the college team was one of only five to succeed, a feat described by the school as "a magnificent display of application and determination".
The team members were Sgt Laurence Beesley-Peck, aged 17, Cpl Richard Hadamovsky, 17, Cpl Alex Jupp, 16, LCpl Robert Nolan, 17, Cdt Matt Cramp, 16, Cdt Edward George, 15, and Cdt Josh Wilkes 18.
So far they have raised over £1,000 for Help the Heroes, with money is still coming in.
