A TEAM of colleagues from a Malvern business are gearing up for a challenging 31-mile fund-raising trek across the Worcestershire countryside.

About eight employees from Worcester City Tiling, based in Spring Lane North, will be tackling the St Richard’s Hospice Worcestershire Way Challenge on Friday, June 26.

The team and dozens of other walkers will leave the Red Lion pub in Great Malvern at 6am and hike over the hills to Bewdley, where they hope to arrive by dusk.

Last year Worcester City Tiling raised in the region of £4,000 by taking part in the event.

Managing director Dave Ranford said: “We all really enjoyed it last year and we have a few more taking part this time.

“It was a beautiful day and a cracking walk - the Worcestershire countryside is spectacular, you can go anywhere in the world and you can’t beat it.

“Most importantly the walk is for a great cause. St Richard’s does a fantastic job.”

Last year’s Worcestershire Way Challenge raised a total of £35,000 and there is still time for businesses, groups or individuals to sign up for this year.
