UNIVERSITY student Jessica Bissell saw her final year costume work showcased on the catwalk recently at a fashion show and exhibition in Worcester.
Jessica, from Malvern, is a third year degree student at the University of Worcester and is hoping to pursue a career in historical costumes, her speciality being corsets and corsetry.
The fashion show was held in The Hanger at Worcester Art and Design College last week and Jessica’s work was part of an exhibition by all the third year costume and make-up students. The show was an opportunity for the students to show off their work to an interested audience made up of family and friends, lecturers, future students and potential employers.
Talking about the course Jessica said: “It has been wonderful to be given an opportunity to work creatively within the costume field, I am self taught and enjoy the freedom and flexibility this course allows.”
The costume and make up course is run jointly by the University of Worcester and the Art and Design department at Worcester College and this year’s students are the fifth year to successfully complete the course.
