MORE than 150 people braved atrocious weather conditions to walk the Malvern hills in aid of charity on Sunday (May 17).
The intrepid walkers tackled routes of either four or eight miles as they took part in the Malvern Hills Lions Club’s annual walk.
Money raised by the event will be used to support Diabetes UK and a handful of local charities.
Lions Club spokesman Roger Orgill said: “Walkers experienced a mixture of torrential rain interspersed with occasional sunshine.
“Lions were concerned that the conditions would put people off but, in the words of one participant, ‘we so enjoy this walk and its cause that we wouldn’t miss it come rain or shine’.
“Thanks must go to all Lions members and helpers who braved the weather to put the event on.”
