A FATHER of two from Malvern who survived a life-changing battle with testicular cancer will be putting women through their paces ahead of four local Race for Life events this summer.
Richard Noble, 38, who owns the PF2 health clubs in Malvern and Worcester and Chessgrove Day Spa in Bromsgrove, was diagnosed with advanced testicular cancer 10 years ago.
Having survived the potentially fatal disease, Mr Noble is determined to help others suffering with cancer by using his skills to help women taking part in the Race for Life achieve their fundraising and fitness goals.
Along with his team from PF2 he will be offering free fitness demonstrations to women entering the Race for Life in Worcester, Redditch, Bromsgrove and Stratford.
Mr Noble was diagnosed in 1998 after his wife Rachel insisted he visit the doctor with stomach ache.
“I used to ride motorbikes and I put the stomach aches down to that,” he said. “It never crossed my mind that it could be cancer.
“I asked the consultant if I really had to have chemotherapy and he said that if I’d left it another two weeks I might not even have that option.”
He underwent two four-day courses of chemotherapy in January 1999. Regular tests since have given Mr Noble the all-clear.
