THE gardens of the Davenham and Perrins House residential home in Graham Road, Malvern, will be open on Saturday. May 23, from 2-4.30pm.
The four-acre gardens contain many large trees and shrubs, along with perennials. There are over 50 species of trees including a giant sequoia, numerous acers, giant redwoods and a ginkgo biloba.
Davenham was the home of James Dyson Perrins, a local benefactor. In 1958, his wife, Frieda, bequeathed the house to the Friends of the Elderly. Perrins House was opened in 1972.
A list of most of the trees and shrubs has been compiled, along with a plan of the gardens, and information about the house and family, which will be available on the day, for a small charge.
Admission will be £2 for adults. There will be a variety of stalls including home-made cakes, jams and pickles, plants, books, cards and handicraft items made by the residents, a tombola and white elephant stall.
