TWO friends from Malvern will be tackling the gruelling Moonwalk Marathon in London on Saturday, May 16, to raise money for breast cancer research.
Rosemary Baugh and Mike Speed, both members of the congregation at Holy Trinity Church, will join thousands of others from across the country for the 26-mile night time trek through the capital’s streets.
Mrs Baugh is a veteran of two previous Moonwalk Marathons, while it will be a new experience for Mr Speed, although he has previously completed a half marathon and the Three Peaks Challenge.
Mrs Baugh said: “Mike has stuck to the training programme fantastically, but I have not been able to do that much as I have not been that well since Christmas.
“But I’m sure with two of us taking part together we will be able to pull each other around the course. The sheer atmosphere and adrenaline of the occasion also helps to get you through.”
