MORE than 100 Colwall residents packed into a special exhibition detailing how the traffic system would work over the village’s new bridge on Tuesday (May 5).
The exhibition, held at the library, also provide an opportunity for villagers to ask questions of officers of Herefordshire Council and Network Rail, which jointly ran the event.
Richard Ball, Herefordshire Council’s assistant director environment and culture, said: “We organised this event jointly with Network Rail to let residents know what is planned for the new bridge and to keep them up-to-date on progress.
“Most people who came along wanted to know when the bridge would be open and said they couldn’t wait until June 26 when the scheme is due to be complete.”
Colwall resident Adrian Mealing, who has followed the debate over the bridge from the beginning, attended the exhibition.
He said: “The majority of the people who were there while I was there were in favour of a two-lane system, but there are others in the village who feel a one-way system would be safer.”
