A COLWALL resident will be putting his pedal power to the test this summer when he tackles a challenging London to Paris bike ride to raise money for charity.
James Harvey, 50, from Colwall Stone, is taking part in the Cycle Challenge in July to raise money for the St Richard’s Hospice.
Mr Harvey does not normally cycle and has been putting in a lot of training ahead of the challenge.
He said: “I’m hoping to raise as much as possible for St Richard’s as I really like the idea of helping a local charity and this seemed like a very interesting challenge.”
St Richard’s fundraising manager Tricia Cavell said: “We are very grateful to James for undertaking this fantastic challenge. This is a particularly special year for St Richard’s, celebrating 25 years of caring for patients and families living with cancer and other life-threatening illnesses.
“All the funds raised by this event will help ensure St Richard’s can care for those that need us in the future.”
Anyone else interested in taking part in the challenge should call Tricia Cavell on 01905 763963 or email tcavell@strichards.org.uk
