SPORTS science student Christian Edwards, from Malvern, has picked up a national award at the 2009 BASES Annual Student Conference.
Christian, 23, an MSc student of Sports Coaching Science at the University of Worcester, is also a teaching assistant at the university. He won the prestigious award for his presentation at the conference on ‘Relationships among muscle dysmorphia, appearance schema processing, body image disturbance and activating events’.
“It was a great achievement to win and I was delighted,” said Christian, who was one of nine students from Worcester University to present at the conference. Mel White, from Worcester, also won an award.
Mick Donovan, head of the Institute of Sport and Exercise Science at the university,said: “It is a real testament to the Department and the university to have nine students present their work, with two winning awards.”
The University of Worcester is Britian’s fastest growing university with applications up by more than 100 percent in the last five years. The university is currently developing a new £100 million campus in the centre of Worcester.
