A MALVERN band feel they could be on the verge of big things as they launch a new EP after picking up support from BBC Radio.
The Transcendence Experience, who describe themselves as a lively, eclectic fusion of reggae, psychedelia and funk laced with prominent Eastern melodies, have been championed by DJ Andrew Marston, presenter of the Friday Sessions and a contributor to the Introducing shows on national Radio 1.
The band perform a gig tonight (Friday, April 24) at The Lamb, in West Malvern, and will also be performing in Priory Park during Malvern’s May Day celebrations on Saturday, May 2.
They are planning a gig and party night at The Lamb following the May Day event and will then be travelling to Europe for a string of concert dates.
The band’s self-titled EP will be on sale at all their forthcoming shows and at Susie’s Fancy Dress Shop, in Richmond Road, Malvern.
Frontman Madhava, who grew up between India, the USA and the UK, said: “It feels like we are going to a new level now so hopefully this is the start of bigger things.
“The BBC has perked its ears up to our sound which means we must be doing something right.”
Transcendence Experience will feature on BBC Hereford and Worcester’s Friday Session from 7-9pm this evening. For more information visit www.myspace.com/madhavamusic
