A DYSPRAXIA self-help group in Malvern will have a special guest at its meeting tomorrow (Saturday, April 25).
Nicki Burrows, the Dyspraxia Foundation’s new West Midlands development officer, will attend the Adults With Dyspraxia at ARCOS (A.W.D.A.A.) meeting being held from 1-3pm tomorrow.
Her role as development officer will see her working with local groups to enhance their roles in the local community. Part of this work will include creating a comprehensive directory of contacts that can help any children, teens or adults with dyspraxia and their families.
“I am delighted to have joined the Dyspraxia Foundation because I love to help others to find positive solutions,” she said. “By raising awareness and increasing support of the charity, I am hoping we can ultimately provide families with many more choices and opportunities.”
Dyspraxia is an impairment or immaturity of the organisation of movement. It affects the planning of what to do and how to do it and is associated with problems of perception, language and thought.
Anyone wishing to attend the local A.W.D.A.A. Group in Malvern should call ARCOS on 01684 576795 to find out more. Meetings are held on Saturdays approximately every six weeks at the ARCOS Centre in Church Street.
