THE Knapp and Papermill Nature reserve, near Alfrick Pound, is getting ready for Bluebell Sunday, on April 26.
The 67-acre reserve, owned by Worcestershire Wildlife Trust, is a mixture of meadows and woodland and should be carpeted in bluebells for the event.
As well as enjoying the beauty of the reserve and hopefully catching sight of kingfishers and other wildlife, visitors will be able to enjoy a whole range of activities and learn more about the wildlife around us.
Information and activities will be provided by the Worcestershire Bat Group, Worcestershire Wildlife Trust’s family Watch group, Worcester Barn Owl Conservation Group, beekeeper Trevor Smart, the Ancient Tree Project and more.
There will be local artists and craftspeople as well as book and plant sales. Music will be provided by Bavarian folk music group Kopanitsa and refreshments, including a pig roast, will be available.
Reserve warden Fergus Henderson said: “This annual event is a great day out for all the family, with children’s trails and activities as well as guided walks, information and entertainment. It’s also a great time to see the blossoming of spring on this fantastic reserve.”
