A MAY Fair in Malvern will raise money for two important rescue services.
The event, taking place in The Elgar Suite at The Abbey Hotel on Friday, May 1, will raise money for the Great Western Air Ambulance and Upton-based water rescue crew Mercia Inshore Search and Rescue (MISAR).
The fair will be opened at 10am by award-winning actor Bob Clarke, who is playing Fabian in Twelfth Night at Malvern Theatres, and Coronation Street actress Emily Aston is also scheduled to make an appearance.
Visitors can also enjoy a lavish selection of 20 unique boutique stalls, selling everything from fashion clothing and accessories to gadgets, games and birthday and wedding gifts.
There will also be music from the Colwall Community Choir, winners at last year’s Cheltenham Festival of Performing Arts.
Organiser Charlotte Carver hopes the event will raise a lot of money to support the vital rescue services.
“The devastation caused by the recent floods could have been so much worse if it hadn’t been for our local heroes,” she said. “We’re fund-raising again to help MISAR and the new air ambulance, which covers the motorway network near us, because both these emergency services rely entirely on the generosity of the public as neither receives state or lottery funding.”
Tickets cost £5 0n the door (5-15s 50p) or £4 in advance when at least three are purchased.
