Malvern Town rounded off their series of pre-season friendlies with a tick in the win column as they gear up for their FA Cup clash with Hereford Pegasus.

The Hillsiders will be confident of a cup run after their resounding 9-0 away thrashing of Lydney Town, which saw goals from Jack Watts, Lewis Spurrier, Alex Bell, a Harry Clark hat-trick, a Jake Bevan brace and Joe Bullock.

The match began with Malvern showcasing their positive approach, with players passing the ball confidently and creating opportunities from the referee's whistle.

Watts was thwarted by the Lydney defence in his early efforts, however, his persistence led to the team getting on the board, slotting calmly into the bottom corner after being play in on goal by strike partner Josh Allen.

Despite the score, Hillsiders goalkeeper Tom Fairclough showcased his agility through a handful of decisive saves.

Before halftime, Malvern increased their lead when Spurrier out-maneuvered the defence twice on the left, receiving a swift return pass from Allen and beating the Lydney keeper at the near post with a right-footed effort.

The Town carried their intensity into the second half with Watts turning 30 yards out from goal, and threading the ball through to Alex Bell, who shrewdly finished for their third goal.

Malvern scored their fourth, when Joe Tumelty's through ball reaching Sam Clark, who rounded the keeper before squaring to Harry Clark to tap into the net.

Bevan added another to the tally, leaving the Lydney goalkeeper stationary with his deft near-post finish.

After Malvern under 18’s captain Tyler Brookes came close to expanding the lead twice , Bevan scored his second with another near post finish, bolstering the team's commanding lead.

Harry Clark added a second goal to his highlight reel as he controlled Bullock's through ball, out-muscled the Lydney right back before cutting inside and firing a right-footed shot into the far corner.

Bullock kept his foot on the gas, scoring Malvern's eighth from a well-worked free-kick routine.

Harry Clark rounded off the clash by claiming the match ball with another close-range finish for his hat-trick.
