MALVERN RFC have paid tribute to their former president and chairman Peter Doran, who has died aged 86.
In a statement on the club's official website, Malvern said: "We are saddened to announce that our past President and Chairman Peter Doran has passed away.
"Peter was renowned in his career in the world of air reconnaissance and led the UK contribution to many international programmes.
"During his time at MRFC as an enthusiastic supporter of all areas of the club and as an exceptional volunteer he carried out many roles such as Chairman and President but he was also very generous by financially supporting the club from his own personal funds when necessary, regularly upgrading sound systems and TV’s in the clubhouse and even down to making and donating rolls to sell behind the bar on match days.
"Peter will be missed at Malvern RFC but will always be remembered as a true gentleman and always having the whole club's best interest at heart."
Details of his funeral will be published in due course.
