TWO men involved with Malvern RFC are closing in on the finish line as they attempt to run 5K each day in June to raise funds for the rugby club.
Former player Jon Owen and current Chief Executive Committee member Mark Johnson are hoping to raise as much money as possible to help with costs to cover the refurbishment of the Malvern RFC clubhouse and changing rooms.
Each day through the month of June, the pair have done a 5K run, rain or shine, and are now just a week or so away from completing their challenge.
They have so far raised over £500 but are hoping to push that figure right up. If you wish to donate to the cause then please follow this link.
Malvern RFC have been providing updates throughout the month via Jon and Mark's regular diary entries. The latest one you can watch below.
"We have now got £500 so thanks to those who have donated so far," said Mark in his recent diary entry.
"We are now more than half-way through the month now, thank god! It is hard in this weather."
Jon added: "We should have done this in February! But thank you to all those who have donated but let's see if we can raise a little bit more."
Daily updates and entertaining diary entries can be found on Malvern RFC's Facebook page. Friends and ex-teammates have been joining the pair for their runs at various points so if you fancy helping the boys out then be sure to head down to the rugby club.
