JORDAN Annear has become Malvern Town's first new signing ahead of the new football season.
Malvern are preparing for their first season back at Step 4 for the first time in 14 years and 26-year-old Annear brings with him a considerable amount of experience in the Southern League.
Annear was a regular on the scoresheet for the likes of Falmouth Town and Plymouth Parkway before going on to score goals at Step 4 with South Shields, Bideford, Slimbridge and Bishops Cleeve.
"Every time we have watched Jordan play, he’s been a real handful for defenders," said co-manager, Stephen Cleal.
"The timing wasn’t right when he left Bishops Cleeve during the course of last season, but now it is and he will be a fantastic addition to our attacking options.
"Both Hoops (Lee Hooper, co-manager) and I are really looking forward to working with him and we’re sure that he can hit the ground running here and use his experience at this level to really help us make an impact."
Annear added: "I can’t wait to get going! As soon as I met up with Hoops and Sooty I knew that I wanted to sign; seeing the ground, the facilities and the way that the club goes about things really interested me.
"This is a club that is moving in the right direction and I am delighted to be part of it.
"Of course, it’s going to be a great challenge for myself and the club. I’ve played against a number of players here, so I know that there is enough quality within the group to more than hold our own in the Southern League."
