PLANS to create a third fishing lake on land in Leigh will go before councillors next week.
Owners of land at River Lands, off Teme Lane, want permission for a lake for commercial fishing, alongside two existing ones.
The lake would accommodate 40 fishermen at one time, in addition to 75 catered for at the moment.
A similar application for the site was refused in February, after concerns about its impact on the local water supply and the effects of excavation work on the site.
Neighbouring residents are worried plans would create too much traffic and disturbance.
Despite concerns, the application has been recommended for app-roval by Malvern Hills District Council planning officers.
It will be discussed at a northern area development control committee meeting on Wednesday at Priory Lodge Hall, Avenue Road, at 6pm.
