THERE was mixed news about crime for people living in Powick after it was revealed that burglaries have gone up while violent crime has gone down.
Local police officer Allan Naulls would not give statistics for the annual crime figures in the village but said there had been a slight increase in burglaries with two extra offences in the area.
However, he also said violent crime had dropped while vehicle crime had stayed the same as previous years. There has also been a fractional increase in criminal damage offences.
PC Naulls was delivering his report to villagers at the annual parish meeting on Friday.
He also told parishioners there were 14 Neighbourhood Watch groups operating within his policing area and providing good information. He urged anyone who wanted to join to contact him.
