A COURSE on supporting volunteers takes place at Great Malvern Station on Wednesday, June 20.

It is one of many held in Herefordshire and Worcestershire to mark Volunteer Week from today (Friday).

Recent research suggests there are at least 4,327 voluntary sector organisations working in the two counties, with an estimated 86,430 volunteers.

The Malvern course is led by Sandy Leong and runs from 10am to 4pm.

Tickets are £5 for organisations without any paid staff, or £30 for others, including lunch and refreshments.

Other courses, held in Kidderminster, Worcester, Bromsgrove and Hereford, include public speaking and presentation skills, the role of the chair, managing contracts, and equality and diversity.
