NIMBLE-fingered Malvern needleworkers enjoyed a successful weekend at a national quilting show at the Three Counties Showground.
Quilts UK, which took place from Thursday to Sunday, has been running for 19 years and attracts thousands of visitors from across the country.
Among this year's competition winners were a group of creative 7 to 11-year-old pupils from St Joseph's Primary School, in Link Top, who won the schools' category.
They impressed judges with their Oceans and Lands quilt, depicting four continents and made entirely from recycled and donated fabrics.
"I'm thrilled with their achievement," said head teacher Ann-Marie Wallbank. "It's something a bit different and they've put so much effort into it."
Malvern's Alice Brankin, aged 12, retained her under-16s title with her eye-catching Night and Day quilt, depicting a desert scene embellished with hand-made beaded lizards.
Lesley Brankin and Meg Leach won the two person quilts category with their entry Glasshouse, inspired by a visit to the tropical house at Birmingham's Botanic Gardens.
Though Lesley lives in Malvern, Meg comes from Andover, in Hampshire, so the quilt was designed via e-mails and each panel made independently.
