TWO Malvern women have raised more that £1,200 for the fight against breast cancer by taking part in a nocturnal walk through London.
Rosemary Baugh and Gill Patten were among more than 15,000 participants in the 26-mile Playtex Moon Walk last Saturday (May 19) in Hyde Park.
Mrs Baugh did the event just six months after being told she no longer had the disease, which she had been fighting for four-and-a-half years.
"It went very well,"! she said. "I did it in seven hours and 50 minutes. My daughters were there and their children, and they had banners and were cheering me on."
She said that at about half-way through the walk, she she felt very tired, but she then got second wind at the 15 mile mark and pulled through to the end.
So far they have raised £1,231.50, with some more to be collected. "It was a really great experience, and I'd definitely do it again," said Mrs Baugh.
