HOLLOWAYS of Suckley has won two major awards at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show.
Edward Holloway created a small courtyard with carved stone statues, a Georgian sundial and a curved wrought-iron bench, displayed among purple and grey plantings. The stand was awarded a certificate of commendation by RHS judges.
The interior for a distinctive hardwood conservatory, specially built for the show by Hampden Conservatories, won a certificate of commendation, the second highest possible award for this type of entry.
"We can't believe our success," said Diana Holloway "We all put such an effort into the conservatory, featuring our much-loved English willow furniture, and it has paid off."
This was a truly local effort, as the garden around the conservatory was executed by Sam Orgee and Peter Fletcher, from S&P Garden Designs, and the plants were supplied by Caroline Orgee of Lower Court Nurseries, both from Suckley.
Another winner is Garden Inspiration of Colwall, which helped build a garden for Uchimaya Landscapes, which won a silver medal and was a popular attraction in the courtyard garden section.
