A DEDICATED Malvern man is following up a successful London Marathon attempt with a charity band and auction night.
Geoff Carpenter has organised the event on Friday, June 8, for the Prostate Cancer Charity.
Mr Carpenter and his friend Dave Sutton both entered the marathon in April. Due to an injury picked up in training, Mr Sutton had to withdraw and opted for a five-mile sponsored swim at the Splash.
The two have raised more than £2,500 for the charity so far, but Mr Carpenter hopes the event at Colwall Village Hall will add more.
The evening features live blues and rock music by Wild Turkey, a hog roast, charity auction and raffle.
Auction lots include a signed British Lions rugby shirt, donated by Jonny Wilkinson, a year's membership at Banana Fitness and a helicopter piloting lesson.
Tickets for the event, from 7.30pm to 11pm, are £10 including food. They are available from John Goodwin estate agents in Colwall on 01684 540300.
All auction items are available for viewing and bidding online, at www.pdherbert.f2s.com/auction.htm
