The last pint may have been poured at the Horse and Groom pub in Ryall after an application was made to convert the building into a private house.
The pub closed its doors late last year and Millstrand Developments Ltd has now applied to alter and extend the building to create a single residential property.
Roger Sutton, Malvern Hills district councillor for Ripple, described the Horse and Groom as a proper local pub, and said he had played skittles there for nearly 30 years.
Coun Sutton said while he was not aware of any strong feeling for the pub to be reopened, he was aware of concerns regarding what development might take place on the site.
He hopes to meet with council officers to discuss the plans, and to confirm that the property had been shown to no longer be viable as a public house.
