WITH 12 members of Malvern Town Action Group elected unopposed before a ballot had even been cast, there was never much doubt about the political complexion of Malvern Town Council after the election.
Also elected unopposed was Tory councilllor Pat Mewton, and three seats in Chase ward remain to be filled by co-option.
The only ward where an election was held was Link, and here three MTAG candidates, Alistair Macmillan, Michael Soley and Paul Tuthill, and independent Ian Hopwood won seats.
Adrian Ward, of MTAG, said: "Our aim is very much to continue the good work we've been doing over the last four years, which is to offer the best services we can for the most economic price."
He said the council would continue to press for a new hospital in Malvern and hopes to arrange another public meeting later in the year.
