RESIDENTS who have complained about noise levels during events at Priory Park were delighted with the organisation of Malvern Fringe Arts' May Day celebration.
Last month, Malvern Hills District Council's standards committee considered a complaint from members of the Park View Residents' Association, who want noise limits introduced to tackle concerns that came to a head during a live music event in September.
Association chairman Robert Homer said he was pleasantly surprised with the May Day event.
"I had my grandchildren over for the weekend and we spent an hour or so in the park," he said. "The noise was not excessive, it was comfortable and proceedings even finished early."
The council used sound monitoring equipment at the event, as per the standards committee's instruction.
Mr Homer said residents hope subsequent events can run as smoothly.
"We will wait and see at the next one," he said. "The Fringe organisers did a good job and it shows that things can be done to everyone's satisfaction and so everybody enjoys themselves."
