THE meeting held on September 25 was opened by the Chairman Liffy Curtis who welcomed members and visitors.
A special welcome to Margaret Evans who entertained everyone with her demonstration entitled Floral Fun.
The first arrangement was ivy leaves and small orchid spray on a plaque. Second a black tub decorated with hosta and ivy leaves with blue shere, sunflowers and white chrysanthemums. This was followed using a long birch log a variety of foliage and flowers including golden oats and orange lilies.
Fourth arrangement was a dark silver urn decorated with pale green fibre, foliage orange gladiolus, yellow lilies and love-lies-bleeding.
Next on a tall stand foliage green carnations, pink hydrangea, white roses with love-lies-bleeding draped down with a small arrangement placed at the foot. Marjorie Bishop gave a vote of thanks. Next meeting Tuesday, October 23 at Hanley Swan Village Hall at 2pm there will be a competition Autumn Colour and a demonstration with Linda Garrett entitled Down on the Farm. All visitors welcome.
