AN oil spill stretching three miles which has prompted several calls to the police is not serious and will break up as the day goes on.
Drivers have been ringing West Mercia Police and Worcestershire County Council regarding the spill, which starts from the Wyche cutting, continues along Belle Vue Terrace, and along the Leigh Sinton Road.
It was first reported on the morning of Monday, October 8.
Jon Fraser, a Worcestershire County Council highways manager, said: "It's not as bad as reported.
"It's over a distance of about three miles, and has obviously caused concern, as with the wet weather people can see the oil pattern on the road.
"We're putting up advisory signs for drivers, but with the traffic and the wet weather it should break up."
Drivers are urged to take care along the affected roads.
