TELECOM company BT says it will be able to get going on installing cabinets for superfast broadband services as soon as a consultation period is up later this month.

The firm plans to install the cabinets on land owned by Malvern Hills Conservators, and an agreement between the two bodies on the placement of the boxes was reached in August.

Now BT says it is waiting until the 56-day public consultation period is over so that it can start work.

BT spokesman Emma Tennant said that the consultation period expires on October 20.

She said: “We will be getting the work done as soon as possible after that, although we cannot yet give an exact date for when the superfast broadband will go live.”
